Who This Is For

This course is built for beginners, career changers, students, and young professionals who want real cybersecurity skills — not just theory. No prior IT or security background is required. If you can use a computer and are willing to put in structured, hands-on work, you can start here.

This course helps you build practical skills through 168 simulated hands-on labs, structured lessons, troubleshooting exercises, and a comprehensive capstone project. It is designed to prepare you to continue developing your cybersecurity skills and pursue entry-level opportunities — it does not promise a job, a salary, or instant expertise, and you should be skeptical of any course that does.

The 24-Week Curriculum

Six phases, each building directly on the last — from IT fundamentals to a full professional capstone.

Phase 1 — Weeks 1–4

IT & Cybersecurity Foundations: core concepts, computer systems & virtualization, Linux, Windows.

Phase 2 — Weeks 5–8

Networking, Cryptography & Identity: networking fundamentals, cryptography & PKI, identity and access management (IAM), network security devices & architecture.

Phase 3 — Weeks 9–12

Security Operations & Vulnerability Management: SIEM & security monitoring, vulnerability management & patching, application security (OWASP Top 10), cloud security.

Phase 4 — Weeks 13–16

Advanced Security Practice: business continuity & disaster recovery, penetration testing & ethical hacking, digital forensics, risk management & governance (NIST CSF 2.0).

Phase 5 — Weeks 17–20

Security Automation & Specialization: security automation & scripting with Python, plus advanced practitioner topics building toward the capstone.

Phase 6 — Weeks 21–24

Career Capstone: a comprehensive hands-on capstone project, portfolio-ready deliverables, and career-readiness preparation.

Curriculum aligned to the NIST NICE Framework, NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) 2.0, and the current OWASP Top 10:2025.

168 Simulated Hands-On Labs

Every week includes exactly 7 labs that get progressively harder: a guided introduction, a guided configuration, verification & analysis, an applied scenario, a troubleshooting challenge, a scenario challenge, and finally an independent technical challenge where you're given objectives instead of step-by-step instructions.

Every lab explains the why, not just the steps — what you're doing, why it matters, how to verify it worked, and what to check if it doesn't. You'll collect evidence, take screenshots that actually prove something, and practice the same technical documentation habits used in real security work.

100% browser-based. No installs required. Built to work on locked-down school or work computers.

See What a Real Lab Looks Like

This isn't a slideshow with quiz questions bolted on. Every lab drops you into a simulated environment — a real terminal, a real scenario, real consequences to investigate — and the questions only unlock once you've actually done the work.

Get it right, and you move forward. Get it wrong, you get a hint pointing back at the exact evidence you missed — not just "try again."

Task B — Verification & Analysis
Based on the audit output, what control is missing from Maria's account?

Multi-factor authentication (MFA)
Group membership
A password

✓ Correct — the audit shows a password-only login with no MFA challenge at all.

Career Preparation

The final phase of the course introduces the roles this training maps to — SOC Analyst, Security Analyst, Vulnerability Analyst, GRC, Cloud Security, and more — and walks you through building a cybersecurity portfolio, documenting your projects, drafting a resume, and preparing for technical interviews. This is preparation for entry-level opportunities, not a guarantee of employment.
